What is a contents pack-out?
A contents pack-out is the process of packing, removing, and storing belongings from areas of a home that need repair after fire, water, mold, storm, or other damage. It protects your belongings from further damage and gives reconstruction crews the room they need to work safely.
When is a pack-out needed?
A pack-out is often needed when repairs involve flooring, drywall, ceilings, cabinets, or other work that requires a room to be fully cleared. It may also be needed when belongings have been exposed to smoke, soot, or water and need cleaning before they come back into the home.
Do all of my belongings have to be packed out?
Not always. Many projects only require a partial pack-out of the affected rooms. CubeX helps determine which areas need to be cleared and which items can be protected in place.
What should I remove before the pack-out?
Please set aside medications, cash, jewelry, important documents, firearms, family photos, heirlooms, antiques, and anything else that is valuable or irreplaceable. These items should stay with you during the project.
Where are my belongings stored?
Packed belongings are kept in secure storage while repairs are completed. Your CubeX project contact can tell you where your items are and when they are scheduled to return.
Can damaged belongings be cleaned?
Many items exposed to smoke, soot, or water can be cleaned or restored. CubeX can coordinate contents cleaning through trusted partners for salvageable items. Some items may not be salvageable, and those will be identified and documented.
Does homeowners insurance cover pack-out and storage?
